REQUIREMENTS AND QUALIFICATIONS
Lead Preschool and Kindergarten Teacher
The qualified candidate will have a recognized degree in early childhood education or related field with minimum 3 years full time teaching experience at an educational preschool and/or kindergarten setting. Additional qualifications include: high quality teaching practice, contribution to learning area, teaching materials and curriculum development, relationship and communication skills with students, parents and staff. We also require the candidate to be native English speakers, basic computer skills and commit to an initial 2-year contract. The candidate must be passionate to work with children; have an energetic and friendly personality; be sensitive to the feelings and needs of others; be able to relate well to children; and be willing to fulfill responsibilities.
A Teaching Assistant will provide a wide variety of services, including administrative support and assisting the lead teacher in the delivery of the education program within the classroom and support activities within and outside the classroom to ensure students are safe, happy and learning in a positive and nurturing environment.
The candidate should be comfortable to work with and assist young children (2 – 6 years old) and must possess appreciation for an international community, independence, initiative, English language skills, ability to work as part of a team, organization ability, excellent inter-personal and communication skills and basic computer skills.
Strong consideration will be given to applicants with relevant qualification and classroom experience.
Child Care Provider
A Child Care Provider will be required to perform a variety of tasks to tend to children’s basic needs such as feeding, changing diapers, resting, playtime and safety. Additionally, a care provider must be able to support children’s emotional and social development. Key duties include observing, monitoring, organizing and participating in various play-activities, such as reading to children, and teaching them simple painting, drawing, handicrafts, and songs.
The candidate must be patient, attentive, friendly and caring; and possess good instructional skills, excellent people skills, proficiency in English, child health & safety awareness and first-aid training. It is also important for the care provider to have physical stamina and proper health.
At minimum, past experience in childcare is required. Applicants with postsecondary education in areas such as childhood development or psychology is preferred.
After School Program Teacher / Instructor
We welcome applications from ESL teachers, lower elementary grade-level English and Math teachers, specialist teachers for music, art and foreign languages including Japanese.
We also welcome (3rd party) vendors interested in offering fun and enriching extracurricular activities on-site at HIH for children of all age groups, not limited to HIH students.
